This was a great hotel overall, plenty of free parking onsite, great lobby area with Happy Hour and welcoming/friendly staff. Breakfast was plentiful, lots of fresh pastries, and hot and cold items. Decor was simple and modern, every part of the hotel was spotlessly clean and the expresso machines in the rooms was a nice addition. The room had a huge window spanning the whole length & plenty of storage space. As the hotel is located on top of a hill you have fantastic views of either the mountains or the river (Beware the hotel is at the top of a rather steep hill from the town centre but the views from the rooms are worth it) Forest Lagoon is a short 5 minute drive away and highly recommend it, one of the best ones we visited in Iceland

located on top of the hill, in a central position. Just next to the active swimming pool, visible from our window. Spacious room, well furnished and new. the bathroom separated into two spaces, this is helpful to accelerate the use by the two of us. It has nice common spaces for an evening chat and a fantastic restaurant, Aurora, for breakfast and dinner, much appreciated specially as very few restaurants open in the city at this time of the year.

My daughter and I shared a twin bedded room with walk in shower to one side and toilet plus washbasin on the other side, behind the bed head wall. This worked well for us. Huge picture window overlooked the town’s geothermally heated swimming pool and hills beyond. There was plenty of space for luggage and a comfy bench seat. We had a special birthday meal in the hotel dining room. It was superb in every respect!

Icelandair Akureyri was a refreshing and pleasant change compared to a couple of previous depressing hotels we stayed in on our trip to Iceland. The lobby is sleek and inviting. Our room was full of light and air. It was a proper family room with a separate area for kids: bunk bed + wardrobe. Breakfast choice was one of the best we had in Iceland.

Maxim

A very nice, clean, comfortable, corporate feeling hotel. Rooms were large and location is across from the local swimming pool but quite an uphill hike from downtown. Food was quite expensive so we did not eat at the hotel. A decent value for our one night stay but lacking in ambience or an Icelandic vibe
